Mr. Schreder joined McGivney as Faith Formation Director and Girl’s Basketball Coach in August of 2013. Mr. Schreder is excited about the opportunity to lead students in their Catholic faith especially in building the Catholic tradition at Fr. McGivney.
Mr. Schreder and his family, wife Morgan and son Noah, moved from Champaign-Urbana and are getting settled into the area. He is a native of Hecker, Illinois graduating high school from Gibault Catholic High School in Waterloo, IL.
Mr. Schreder has been teaching and coaching since graduating from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign in May of 2008 with a Bachelor’s Degree in History and a minor in Secondary Education. While at the U of I, Schreder was involved at the St. John’s Newman Center and with FOCUS as a Bible Study Leader.
In the Fall of 2008, Schreder began teaching and coaching at the High School of St. Thomas More in Champaign, IL. Schreder taught Mathematics (Algebra I, Algebra II, Statistics), Theology, and was on the School Improvement Team along with other school committees.
Mr. Schreder is excited for the school year to see the brilliant minds of the students and their openness to being part of a new school. As Faith Formation Director, he hopes to inspire students to grow in their faith and to go out and “make disciples of all nations.” Most importantly, he hopes that as Fr. McGivney grows that it would be a place where Christ is truly present in everything that it does.
